Energy

I pull my car into the farthest corner of the parking lot, away from other vehicles and the hustle and bustle of crazed shoppers. Putting my car into park, I glance around, close my eyes, and take several deep breaths. I go through my routine carefully to prepare myself for the energetic tidal wave I’m about to dive into. I use these techniques daily and have taught many of my clients and students to use them as well. The first thing I do is pull my aura in by visualizing it closing around me with every inhalation, like sucking all the air out of a balloon. My aura envelopes me like a scuba suit or a costume that completely disguises me and makes me invisible to the spirits and energy around me. I’ll be able to get in and out with as few issues as possible. Once I feel my “disguise” is in place, I say my prayers of protection and relax all the muscles in my body, starting from my toes and slowly moving up to my head. Next, I tunnel my vision so that I only see what is right in front of me. I turn off the car and step out into the big, dangerous, and scary world of the wholesale store. With every step I take closer to the door, I repeat my prayers of protection and repeat to myself my mission, just like a Navy Seal. My mission: get in, recover the goods I need, and get out. I have my tools (my membership card) at the ready as I walk up to enter the doors. There can be no delay; this mission must go seamlessly. Eyes forward, head held high to never show weakness, I grab a shopping cart, swing it toward the doors, and enter. The crazed energy hits me as soon as the doors clamp together behind me. I’ve committed now, I must continue. I’m feeling confident until I brush past a few customers, picking up their negativity and stress. I swerve to the right, entering one of the towering aisles, and my energy shifts again. I’m feeling like a scuba diver submerged under the water with my oxygen quickly running out but I’m drowning in the energy coming off all of the items towering over my head. I look down at my shopping list and use it to refocus myself, playing my mission out in my head. I take a few more deep breaths, shake off as much of the energy as I can, and keep moving.

I move swiftly through the store picking up all the items I need. I know I need to finish up because I can feel my aura slipping and slowly unraveling around me. I make it to the checkout in record time. I pay for my items and head out. Mission complete. Now I need a nap.
